Piping Engineering

Our experienced mechanical engineers collaborate seamlessly with various disciplines and chosen vendors. They meticulously specify mechanical instruments, components, and plant equipment, tailoring them precisely to meet the design requirements

This information enables us to produce;

  • Valve and Component Lists

  • Mechanical Scope of Works

  • Data Sheets

  • Pipe and Insulation Specifications

  • Pipe Support Documents

  • Nozzle Orientation Drawings

  • Input to the Vendor for final fabrication drawings.

On-Site Surveying

Leveraging our extensive practical experience, our proficient engineering team excels in on-site surveying activities for clients. Equipped with precision tools, we ensure accurate and efficient survey outcomes

Based on the data gathered from our surveys, we proficiently generate comprehensive reports encompassing a range of deliverables, including but not limited to:

  • Demolition packages – Detailing the necessary procedures and requirements for demolition activities.

  • Enabling Work Documentation - Providing comprehensive documentation outlining the groundwork required to facilitate subsequent construction phases.

  • Tie-in Packages - Offering a detailed plan for integrating new pipework, components, instruments and equipment within existing facilities.

Pipe Stress Analysis

Pipe Stress Analysis

We use Stress Analysis software packages Caesar II and Auto pipe to complete the stress and flexibility analysis of piping systems to recognised code requirements. Our analysis can include for both Static and Dynamic loading scenarios and the analysis can be completed to the latest codes and standards.

Using stress analysis we are able to,

  • Mitigate the effects of thermal and pressure expansion on the piping systems.

  • Assess the effects of potential impact loads such as slug loads and water hammer.

  • Capture potential support lift off scenarios.

  • Determine piping reaction loadings onto equipment nozzles.

  • Review nozzle loads for compliance with international codes / standards and any limitations imposed by the equipment manufacturer.

  • Determine pipe support loads on steelwork and Civil Structures.

  • Confirm all Pipe Stresses will be below defined limits.

  • Assess the effects of potential vibration sources such as wind and seismic.

  • Define and create Variable and Constant Spring pipe support datasheets using a variety of supplier catalogues to suit client requirements.

Laser Scanning

We possess the capability to scan existing facilities to align with client requirements. Our seasoned team utilizes cutting-edge Leica equipment to conduct laser scans, seamlessly integrating them into our 3D CAD models or transferring them to BIM models

Based on the scan data we are able to

  • Produce a 3D model of the existing facility

  • Reduce the number of site visits

  • Produce 2D drawings, floor plans and sections

  • Import into the 3D piping model to ensure no clashes

  • Assist to identify tie-ins and hook-ups

Pressure Vessel Design

Pressure Vessel Design

PharmaPipes pressure vessel range are designed to PD.5500:2021, to meet the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), in both carbon and stainless steel. In-house pressure vessel design, together with Finite Element Analysis software, means we can take a client's design criteria and translate into a fully detailed manufacturing drawing. In both horizontal cylindrical or vertical cylindrical configuration, in thickness of up to 25mm and diameters up to 4m, CZ covers a wide range of carbon and stainless steel pressure vessels to suit many applications.

These applications include chemical storage, water filtration, surge vessels, process vessels, LPG and vessels used in power generation.

  • Designed to PD.5500:2021.

  • PED compliant.

  • Carbon and stainless steel.

  • Horizontal cylindrical or vertical cylindrical.

  • In-house Pressure vessel design using 'Finglow'.

  • In-house design using Autodesk Inventor 2022, 2D & 3D modelling with FEA.

  • Thickness of up to 25mm, diameters up to 4m

  • Chemicals, water filtration, surge vessels, LPG, power generation.
